We are currently hiring an Accounting Administrator for a part-time role requiring some flexibility with approximately 100 hours per month. This role is instrumental in providing essential support to our financial controller and project delivery team. This is a fast-paced, highly collaborative team with a focus on ensuring client satisfaction while living Aura’s values of Care, Humility, Creativity, Passion and Fun!

About You
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Solid financial acumen, including good understanding of common accounting software and systems;
· Ability to manage around tight deadlines along with impeccable attention to detail;
· Understanding of Canadian financial accounting best practices and law;
· Strong problem-solving skills to analyze information, identify errors and determine appropriate resolution;
· Ability to analyse and explain detailed financial information;
· Strong computer skills including proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word);
· Strong written and verbal communication skills; and
· Strong sense of accountability, tenacity and ability to hold others accountable to ensure tasks are followed through to completion.
Experience
· 1+ years of experience in an accounting role; and
· Experience in a construction or job costing environment preferred.
Credentials
· Post-Secondary degree, ideally in a relevant field (business, accounting)
About the Role
The Accounting Administrator ensures invoices are properly processed and monthly reconciliations are completed on time for Aura through accepted accounting practices. The Accounting Administrator works closely with the Controller and also contributes to working papers, report preparation and other projects as needed.
Details below:
· Process AP invoices and employee expense reports in a timely manner and make sure they are properly coded and submitted through the system for approval;
· Identify and resolve any invoicing discrepancies with Project Coordinators and vendors;
· Process and reconcile bank and corporate credit card transactions;
· Manage and file electronic accounting documents;
· Assist with ensuring all labour job costing entries are complete and posted;
· Assist with initial project set up in the construction accounting system.
· Prepare AR invoices as needed and process cash receipts;
· Maintain customer and vendor records and coordinate with Project Coordinators to ensure subcontractor compliances are up to date;
· Respond to vendor inquiries in a timely and accurate manner;
· Research and respond to accounting and financial queries;
· Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end processes and assist the controller as needed;
· Assist with system administration of Aura’s accounting and project management software (Premier Construction) by gaining proficiency and understanding of processes and information flow end to end;
· Ensure compliance to company policies and procedures are adhered to and take initiative to recommend ways to improve processes and controls and update accordingly; and
· Assist with ad-hoc financial analysis and projects as required.
